The Lakeland Center is an 8,178 seat multi-purpose arena and theatre in Lakeland, Florida located between Tampa and Orlando. It opened in
November 1974 as The Lakeland Civic Center ( See original logo above with a large red "L" a medium blue "C" and a small red "C" that stands for
Lakeland Civic Center ) and gained its current name The Lakeland Center in June 1994.
It was here where KISS lead guitarist Ace Frehley was nearly electrocuted, during a concert on December 12, 1976.
The Grateful Dead performed at the arena on May 21, 1977. The show makes up half of the archival live album, Dick's Picks Volume 29.

Defenders of the Faith tour, Twisted Sister and Ratt less than a week apart in October 1984, Dokken opening for Dio on the The Last In Line tour,
